The ability to grow your own food is a skill that we should never take for granted. Raised bed gardening is a great way to to get started.

Start with planning your garden and finding heirloom seeds for the things that you would like to eat. Fall is a great time to plant items from the Brassica oleracea family of plants. Kale, Lettuce, Broccolli, Spinach, and Cilantro make for a great fall line up.

If you do not have room for raised beds, then container gardening is a viable options for most spaces.
