Greatness Take Time

Each one of our children has the opportunity to be great in spite of challenges of adopting healthy and life sustaining habits.
In his book, Think and Grow Rich: A Black Choice Daily Motivations for African American Success, Dennis Kimbro uses the following quote from Alan Page, Minnesota Supreme Court Justice (retired):
“The way to be successful is through preparation. It doesn’t wake up one day and discover you’re a lawyer any more than you wake up as a pro football player. It take time.
Kimbro goes on to add the following daily thought. “The eagle is a familiar and popular creature within the framework of achievement. Its regal presence, its reputation as the king of birds, its dwelling in the high and lofty places, and its freedom, strength, and speed as epitomized in its majestic flight make it a filling symbol for greatness…
An eagle’s reproductive cycle can last one year. Furthermore their young remain in the nest as long as 130 days before leaving the roost… So you see, greatness takes time… It takes time and special effort and care to produce greatness. Our creator seeks “eagle” men and “eagle” women leaders who aren’t afraid to stand in the face of adversity, men and women who are willing to continue the struggle no matter how uncomfortable or challenging . Men and women like you!”
