Last weekend, over 400 Methodist churches in Texas voted to leave their parent denomination, the United Methodist Church (UMC). Their decision followed the mass exodus of Methodist congregations in other Southern states, including North CarolinaAlabamaLouisiana, Georgia, Arkansas, and Florida.
