Hurricane Delta came through Friday night and blew down part of my fence. I will use today to repair it. I see no other damage as dawn begins to appear. I was lucky.
In Louisiana, they cannot say the same. The storm has only “added insult to injury” as many of the headlines read this morning. ABC New online headline reads, “Delta adds insult to injury in hurricane-ravaged Louisiana“.
Over 400,000 are left without power in the Southwest Louisiana area around Lake Charles. Hurricane Laura had just struck the area 6 weeks ago according to the article on weather.com titled “Hurricane Delta: Roads Flooded, Buildings Damaged as Storm Moves Inland; More Than 400,000 Without Power“
In the mist of the pandemic, we must exercise caution and lend helping hands while remaining safe. Storms are a part of nature, so the human spirit must rise to the challenge to rebuild.
